Shipping and Delivery

What can I expect during delivery?

All orders include Basic Home Delivery to the driveway of your home or office in major Canadian markets*. You may need the assistance of a friend or family member to help offload your furniture from the delivery truck and into your home. It is the customer’s responsibility to bring the items inside their premise, assemble if necessary, and dispose of all packaging.

Smaller items may ship with a small carrier, such as Purolator or CanPar. These items will be taken off the truck and brought to the first covered area of your home.

Look for any rips, tears, or dents and make sure they are noted on the delivery receipt before signing.

If the driver has a portable signature device and you see damages to the boxes, please sign for the delivery as "damaged".

We request that you do not refuse the delivery if you see damages on the boxes. Just because the boxes are damaged doesn’t mean the actual item itself is. Refusing delivery also makes it much more difficult to address any claims as we will have to get the information from the shipping company.

All deliveries must be signed by an adult of legal age.

*Major markets include Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and their surrounding areas.  Many more Canadian cities not listed here are also included.  Please contact us for more information and to see if your order qualifies.

How much is shipping?

FREE, Basic Home Delivery where you the customer helps unload is included in our prices!  This service includes delivery to the driveway or curb, depending on where you are located and what you are ordering.

Remote surcharges may apply on orders delivered outside of major markets, and in remote locations. For more details on what is considered remote, see below or contact us for more information.

When should I be available for a delivery?

You must be available to accept your delivery on your delivery date between 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday. In most cases the carrier will call you ahead of time to set a delivery date and time window for your delivery. If you need a delivery time or day outside of the normal delivery time window, then you will be required to pay a fee. Please contact us to request a quote for a delivery time or day outside of the normal delivery time window.

How long do I have to accept a delivery after my order arrives at a local shipping terminal?

For large items, the delivery company may contact you to arrange a delivery date. You must accept a delivery date within 3 business days of your order arriving at a local shipping terminal in your area. If you do not accept a delivery date within 3 business days, then you will be required to pay for storage fees. We will provide tracking information to follow your order and therefor please make sure you are available to receive your product when it gets to your area and to avoid storage fees.

You will not be contacted to arrange a delivery date for small items that ship with a small carrier such as Canpar, Loomis, FedEx, UPS or Purolator.

Do you deliver to the Atlantic provinces?

Yes! We offer Basic Home Delivery to Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. Please note our carriers may deem any Atlantic province delivery a "remote" delivery location, and additional remote surcharges may apply. All orders shipping to the Atlantic provinces will be reviewed, and you will be contacted prior to shipment with additional information. For more details on what is considered remote see, "What is considered remote?" below or contact us for more information.

Do you deliver to the territories?

Yes! We offer Basic Home Delivery to the Yukon and Northwest Territories. The two western territories will be serviced from Whitehorse, YT and Yellowknife, NT.

Please note this is a brand new service, and additional remote surcharges may apply.

All orders shipping to the Yukon and Northwest Territories will be reviewed, and you will be contacted prior to shipment with additional information. For more details on what is considered remote see, "What is considered remote?" below or contact us for more information.

What is considered remote?

On occasion, our carriers may deem a certain area based on postal code to be a "remote" delivery location. This is because the carrier does not perform regular delivery in these areas, and the scheduling of dedicated routes requires remote delivery fees for these services. These fees can range anywhere from $25.00 to several hundred dollars based on customer location.

Should your delivery address fall within a "remote" delivery location you will be contacted prior to shipment, informed of the charges, and have the option to accept the order with the surcharge or cancel your order should you not wish to proceed.

Unfortunately these fees are non-negotiable.

Can I choose what time the delivery is for or a specific date?

We cannot guarantee any delivery date or time. We estimate a transit time of 2 to 21 business days to our major markets and surrounding areas (delays can be expected for delivery to remote areas, the Atlantic provinces, as well as the territories). We will do our best to have an order delivered around a certain day or time, however as we rely on third party carriers to do deliveries we cannot guarantee any specific delivery date or time.
